While traditionally, the City of Marseille, alongside the area’s partners, naturally turned towards the Mediterranean, it now wishes to look towards new destinations. London, Miami, Montreal, Turin, Tokyo/Kobe, Saint Petersburg...so many geographical targets with great potential for the promotion of Marseille and its sectors of excellence.
As part of its “Marseille Attractive” action plan, the City of Marseille has chosen London as a Premium Business destination with outreach opportunities for its sectors of excellence. From an economic standpoint, both cities are based on the Digital/Biotech-Health/Tourism-Art of Living triptych.
The City thus wishes to give businesses from Marseille and surrounding metropolitan cities an opportunity to explore this destination by organising an official mission with the Mayor from 18 to 21 May 2016..
This mission will favour the development of business opportunities for Marseille’s SMEs on British territory; in addition, it will be an opportunity to capitalise on the London-Marseille Eurostar train line, which opened in May 2015 and is already a great success with Britons, and to present Marseille as a destination to a target audience already seduced by the Provençal countryside, thus promoting tourism to our city.
In 2016, one additional economic mission, at the initiative of the City of Marseille and in partnership with key local players, will be held in Kobe-Osaka.
